Quality Management Systems QMS usually require a great amount of work put into documentation and analysis. This is not only time consuming but also a significant source for mistakes and additional errors. Also a lot of potentially valuable data is not used due to limited analysis capability. To increase efficiency and improve the overall quality, smart services can be applied.

The market is very diverse and solutions varying in many dimensions exist. Also quality and quality management are interpreted differently in companies and branches. To investigate what the companies participating in the German manufacturing and engineering sector actually need and which requirements have to be met, this site and the attached survey have been created.

With the results of this survey and the principles of lean management a recommendation should be formulated on how to approach digitalization and use of Smart Services in QMS.
